BMC's win big at the Kona 24 hour mountain bike race

Big Congratulation to Jackie Connell and Jason English for taking out the solo female and male categories in the 2008 Kona 24 hour.

Jason is the current national 24 hour champion and a seasoned racer. Jackie wins one of the hardest assignments in the world of mountain biking in only her 3rd mountain bike race.

The Excentriker is a new and innovative part for your bike, providing an eccentric bottom bracket for standard frames. Fixed to standard frames, this makes it possible to adjust the chain tension (for gear hubs and single speed). So you don't need a chain tensioner, adjustable drop outs, or tandem bottom bracket any more.

The Excentriker is easy to install and brings you a smooth optic on your bike! Fits with single speed cranks with 24mm axle (Hollowtech II stand).

Swiss bike company BMC is launching a new frame into its road range: the SLX01 Racemaster

The racemaster SLX01 is a product evolution of the Team Machine SLT01. Like its legendary predecessor, the Race Master still contains the obvious genes and the uniquely harmonious BMC-based design. It sets the new reference standard as far as the engineering, design language and systems integration of BMC’s future road racing machines are concerned. The different materials carbon and aluminium follow a very deliberate and logical union. The fork and the exceptionally unique Streampost seat post have been designed, fined-tuned and integrated with the SLX frame system to assure optimum performance.

Available as a complete bike with shimano ultegra groupset for $4795 or frame only $2995.

So impressive. BMC have really taken carbon bikes to another level of stiffness and weight with its Carbon Nanotube Frame.

Union Titanium spokes

Union Titanium spokes

They are made from USA made “TI 6AL 4V ELI WW” titanium, and are about half the weight of stainless steel. Save around 120g per wheel by using Union Titanium spokes

If you are looking for the ultimate hand built wheelset then these spokes are the ones to get. With Andrew's extensive wheel building experience they can be laced in radial 2cross/3cross or any pattern that takes your fancy. Spokes can be cut to length to suit all mountain/road bicycle applications as well as other applications such as racing wheelchairs, trikes and recumbents.

And yes... they come in different colours.
